The Ou Gallery: Ou Gallery, Duncan, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, CA
The Ou Gallery is an artist-run contemporary art gallery and artist residency that hosts monthly exhibitions, pop-ups and events. Located in the beautiful Cowichan Valley halfway between Victoria and Nanaimo, on the unceded Coast Salish territory of the Tsawout First Nation.
Two-week Artist in Residence at the Ou Gallery, illustrating the Canadian Rocky landscape as part of my ‘Where My Eyes have been’ art series.
(Approx. 40 hours in total were spent on creating the hand drawn, dot-work piece.)
Artist in Residence
For the summer of 2017, I spent some time away from rainy England to explore Vancouver and the Canadian Rockies. As part of my personal and artistically driven adventure, I spent two weeks on the beautiful Vancouver Island as an Artist in Residence at The Ou Gallery in Cowichan Valley, Duncan.
With the tranquil backdrop of nature and woodland, I dedicated my time to perfecting my attention to detail and dot-work technique whilst drawing the challenging Canadian Rockies landscape.
